QGasSP - Quantitative Greenhouse Gas Impact Assessment Method for Spatial Planning Policy

European Spatial Planning Observation Network (ESPON)

QGasSP - Quantitative Greenhouse Gas Impact Assessment Method for Spatial Planning Policy
The purpose of this analysis is to identify a robust method that will allow planning authorities at national, regional, and local levels to quantify and forecast the influence of spatial planning policies on GHG emissions in a consistent manner. The expected outputs will include a web application and modelling tool, which will aid Member States in meeting their GHG emissions targets. The project will examine how competent planning authorities can prioritise climate mitigation strategies and enhance the effectiveness of the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) process, which can provide alternative scenarios to inform decision making and build political will for climate action.
